Apply for MEPCO New Connection

A comprehensive guide on the official ENC portal application process, demand notice fees and document requirements for 2026.

The 4-Step New Connection Process

The Ministry of Energy limits all DISCOs (including MEPCO) to a standardized digital process. To get your new meter installed efficiently, strictly follow these four visual steps.

Digital ENC Process Workflow

1. Apply Online

Fill out the application form on the official ENC website carefully. Select MEPCO as your company.

2. Submit Documents

Upload scanned copies of property documents, CNIC and an oath commissioner's affidavit.

3. Demand Notice

MEPCO surveys the site and issues a Demand Notice to be paid at a designated bank.

4. Installation

Submit the paid Demand Notice receipt. MEPCO installs the meter within 30 days.

Documents Required for a New Meter

Before you begin your online application, ensure you have scanned copies of the following documents. Maximum file size per document is generally 300KB (JPG or PDF).

Personal ID

  • Applicant's CNIC (Front and Back)
  • Copy of witnessing neighbor's CNIC (2 witnesses required)

Property Proof

  • Property Registry, Allotment Letter or Fard
  • In case of a tenant: NOC from owner + Rent Agreement

How to Track Your Application Status

Once you hit submit, the ENC system will generate a unique Tracking ID. Follow these steps to check where your application is in the queue:

  1. Go to the official ENC tracking portal: enc.com.pk (Track section)
  2. Select MEPCO from the DISCO dropdown.
  3. Choose New Connection as the application type.
  4. Enter your Tracking ID or CNIC number and click Check.
  5. The system will display whether your application is pending survey, pending Demand Notice payment or pending installation.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip: Need a duplicate Demand Notice?

If you misplace your Demand Notice, you can reprint it via the ENC portal by using your Tracking ID. You cannot pay it online โ€” it must be paid over the counter at the banks specified on the printout (usually designated NBP or BOP branches).

New Connection FAQs

Quick answers to common questions about the MEPCO new meter application process.

On average, it takes 30 to 45 days from the date of application to the actual meter installation. This includes site survey (10 days), demand notice issuance (5-7 days) and installation after payment (15-20 days).

A Demand Notice is a payment voucher issued by MEPCO for the cost of wire, meter and service line. You must pay this at a designated commercial bank (usually NBP, HBL or BOP) mentioned on the notice. Online payment for demand notices is currently not available.

Yes, the ENC portal handles Domestic, Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural connection requests. For high-load industrial connections (above 15kW), additional documentation like site maps and load details may be required.

If your application status hasn't moved for over 45 days, you should visit the MEPCO Division/Sub-division office for your area with your Tracking ID. Alternatively, you can call the MEPCO helpline at 061-9210334.
